What Happens During Junior Coaching?

Sessions are designed to help juniors develop their golf in a way that feels enjoyable, engaging and appropriate for their level.

Matt will introduce and develop the key skills they need while giving each junior the support and guidance to progress at their own pace.

Coaching can cover everything from the basic fundamentals through to different shots, short game skills, putting and learning how to play the game.

The aim is not to overload juniors with technical information. It is to help them learn, improve and enjoy coming back each week.

Building Skills and Confidence

Learning golf should be something juniors look forward to.

Group coaching gives them the opportunity to develop their skills alongside other young golfers while becoming more comfortable and confident with the game.

There is no expectation that they already know how to play.

Complete beginners can learn the basics from the start, while juniors with previous experience can continue developing their game and working towards their own goals.

Everything They Need to Get Started

We want getting into golf to be as simple as possible.

Junior Group Coaching Membership includes:

  • Golf balls for every coaching session
  • Loan clubs where required
  • Coaching suited to each junior's age and ability
  • Support for beginners and more experienced juniors

The focus is always on creating a positive environment where juniors can learn and enjoy their golf.

How Does Junior Membership Work?

Membership is paid as a consistent monthly amount across the year, with group coaching sessions taking place during school term time.

Before attending their first session, a parent or guardian will need to complete a short online form with the junior's details, emergency contact information, relevant health information and the required parental consent.

There is also a separate option to give permission for photographs and videos. This is completely optional and is not required for a junior to take part in coaching.

Who Is Junior Coaching For?

Junior Group Coaching is suitable for complete beginners as well as young golfers who have played before.

Some juniors may be taking their first steps into golf, while others may already play regularly and want to keep improving.

Whatever their starting point, coaching is adapted to their experience and ability so they can develop at a pace that is right for them.

The most important thing is that they feel comfortable, supported and excited to keep playing.

Your questions, answered

Does my child need experience or their own clubs?

No. Beginners are welcome. Suitable loan clubs, balls and bay time are included during coaching. Let Matt know if your child needs left-handed clubs.

Can I stay and watch?

Yes. A parent or responsible adult must remain on site for these junior groups. Matt will explain the waiting area and sign-in/out arrangements. Please stay outside the hitting area unless invited.

My child is shy or needs extra support. Can they join?

Contact Matt at [email protected] before booking so you can discuss what helps your child feel comfortable and whether the group can meet their needs.

Is the coach DBS checked and first-aid trained?

Yes. Matthew is DBS checked and first-aid trained, as well as being a PGA professional. If you have questions about the arrangements, speak to him before your child starts.

What happens in half-term?

There is no session on 31 October. The session on 24 October runs as normal. The block contains six dated sessions, finishing on 21 November 2026. Holiday camps are separate.

What if we miss a session?

The group follows the published dates. A private replacement lesson is not included; speak to Matt about what your child missed. Ask for the full booking terms before paying.

Will I be signed up to a monthly payment?

No. This is one payment for six sessions, with no automatic renewal. You can decide whether to continue after the block.
